Client Tools SSO options

Hi,

I'm trying to find out what are the current SSO options for Client Tools (WebiRichClient, IDT). I'm aware of AD SSO for client tools but I was wondering if anything else has come up for 4.2 or 4.3? Like TrustedAuthentication or SAML?

Also, documentation for Client Tools SSO seems a little low. Anybody has a good guide for that?

Thanks,

Christoph

SSO to client tools via AD was never by design, just an unexpected result for the tools written in c++ (WRC, UDT), so it's not really documented but does work if BI is using the AD plugin.

Other client tools like IDT which use java code cannot do SSO in any circumstance

Tools that login via web services (dswsbobje) can also use kerberos

There are no plans to integrate SAML as our current implementation uses springsaml via tomcat, and cannot be integrated into the tools.

I have heard that IDT SSO is being discussed for 4.3 SP3 but have not seen it yet and until it arrives there is no public statement on it, so it doesn't exist.

Thanks Tim, much appreciated. I've never heard of client tools AD SSO as a "coincidence" 🙂 but it explains the lack of documentation. We will probably not go for client tools SSO then.
