Changing the 'Organize Entries' iview

Hello all,

I've received a request to make two changes to the 'Organize Entries' option of the Portal Favorites iview. They want me to remove the 'Details' option from each of the links shown in 'Organize Entries'. They also want me to make it so that you cannot click on the link and browse to where the link points while in the 'Organize Entries' iview.

I'm sure that this can be done by working with the layout set that the 'Organize Entries' iview uses. However, I can't find the 'Organize Entries' iview. If I find that, I'm sure that I can find the layout set that's being used.

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks!

I would also think that I would not want to modify the out of the box iview. I would want to create my own iview, make the changes to it, and then use it as 'Organize Entries'. Not sure how to do that either.

      Hi Stephen,

as mentioned above, you only need to create a iView from PAR file com.sap.km.cm.navigation.

In the parameter <b>Layout Set</b> you have to enter your modified my_LinkListExplorer. In the parameter <b>Path to Initially Displayed Folder</b> and <b>Path to Root Folder for Navigation</b> you would need to mention the folder where the links should be saved. If the links should be saved user specific (every user can see only his own links) the parameter entry can look like "/alias/userhome/<user.id>/mylinks", if not it can be something like "/documents/mylinks".

After creating the iView integrated in a new role (in order to not change a SAP role) 😉

      Hope this helps,

      Robert

    Hi Stephen,

the LayoutSet used is "LinkListMaintenance". You actualy don't need to find the iView in PCD to find out the Layout Set used, you can just turn on the KM Debugging" target="_blank">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f4/2c6b2089cc784bb384a7ea058de50d/content.htm">Debugging Settings for your user and click on "Rendering Information".

To have the desired changes remove "<b>(contentLink)</b>" from the <b>Display Properties </b>parameter of the used Collection Renderer <b>LinkListMntcCollectionRenderer</b> and remove ", SingleDetailsGroup(expanded)" from the Command List entry of the Command Group LinkListMntcResourceCommandGroup which is used as Resource/Folder/Link Command Group in LinkListMntcResourceRenderer (the Resource Renderer of the LinkListMaintenance Layout Set).

    Hope this helps,

    Robert

    Hi Robert,

In the interest of protecting my changes during an upgrade, wouldn't I want to make a copy of the layout set and all corresponding objects to my own namespace? If so, I would need to change the name of the layout set in the 'Organize Entries' iview to my custom one. Where can I find this iview?

    Thanks!

Hi - I followed your instructions on how to remove the details menu options but they are still visible. Do I need to restart the portal to see the changes?

      Regards

    Hi Robert,

I was able to successfully remove the 'Details' option in each of the dropdown boxes in the 'Organize Entries' iview. However, I was wrong about the other option that they wanted me to remove.

When creating a new internal link in the 'Organize Entries' page (under Favorites -> New -> Link), how do I remove the 'Browse...' button? It appears that when you're on this page, you're still using the 'LinkListMaintenance' layout set. However, I don't see any reference to this button.

    Thanks!

      Hi Stephen,

unfortunately, this is not achievable by customization. You would need to modify the class com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.uicommand.cm.UINewInternalLinkCommand and create a new "new_internal_link" UI Command based on your modified class.

      Hope this helps,

      Robert
