I am using Visual Studio 2013 as development platform and with it I am trying to design a report card for students that displays data from an SQL Server Database on remote web server.
I have created the data connection to the database using SQLOLEDB and fetched field from the database.
Besides the normal data fields, i have to use a lot of commands objects to get the marks of each test for each subject for each student.
There are 6 subjects and each subject has 6 tests, i have to use 36 command objects to get the required values from database.
When i try to put these command fields into my report, when i put the first object into report, the report preview is fine but after placing other command objects into report, the preview of the report goes blank and all the values of normal database fields and command fields disappear.
But when i right click on those command fields in design view and click browse field data, the values are displayed in a popup but not in the report preview.
I have tried a lot of things with the database, connection like using SQL native client 10.0 for connecting with the remote server, using a local sql server database but report preview is always disappearing.
Other Question:- Which approach should be used to connect to the SQL server database?
Kindly help me out with your experienced suggestions and technical help so that i can publish my project.
