Is it possible to create a PR with Material Group but no account assignment?

Dears,

My situation is, our client needs to just drop Purchase Requisition at Material Group level, even if for inventory-related rather consumption.

But when I'm testing, it has to indicate account assignment for material group PR. Does it has opportunitiy to change it?

Hello frank100

Let me understand "inventory related" as stock managed. Then you need a material number to manage stock. You can't manage stock with material groups only. Therefore if you can to place a PR for a material group, you need an account assignment as there is no stock management for a material group. If you need a PR without account assignment i.e. inventory related / stock relevant PR, you need a material number as stock is managed with material numbers.

The bottom line is you can't have both a PR without account assignment and without material number at the same time.

Hello Frank Chou,

The PR which you are creating with material group are basically applicable for Services taken by the vendors. As per standard system it's mandatory to fill account assignment tab for saving such type of the PRs.
