Do we have a model/calculator to estimate the number of expected test cases from FIT's/GAP's identified during the Fit Gap Analysis phase?
I am having S4 HANA Greenfield implementation, wherein we just completed Fit to Standard workshops in Agile. Wherein we have collate the data like this : - Fit are identified as Standards what SAP says, Any deviation which require little config change from Standard as consider as DELTA whereas Gaps are the one which require from scratch (new Development). Please guide.
Hello Piyush,
Every implementation project is unique and needs some project-specific strategy when it comes to defining the test cases. You can review the Test Strategy Task from SAP Activate Roadmap for S4Hana Cloud Implementation for a guidance.
However, as you already have identified the FITs for your implementation project, then it would be wise to consider leveraging standard Test Scripts, which are available on the SAP Business Process Explorer, SAP has provided test scripts for all the standard Scope Items, You can review these test scripts and estimate how many of these scripts can be reused and determine the scope for new test scripts that might be needed. You can follow the instructions provided in the Task "Define a Test Case" in the SAP Activate Roadmap for S4Hana Cloud Implementation.

Hello Piyush,
In general, UAT (or BAT- Business Acceptance Testing) are the tests performed by the key users/business users from the customer implementation team. Regarding resourcing, it would be subject to the scope and how the users will be engaged in executing the business process.
In my personal experience, We usually don't provide resource estimation for UAT as its owned by the customer team; however, this can be discussed with all the key stakeholders while defining your test strategy.
Hi. for UAT you need to know the "processes". In other words, ok, if you did the fit-gap workshops, first you have presented the processes included in the scope. Each GAP is also part or solve any out of standard process.
So, you need to take the processes with all their steps and based on that process you will be able to estimate the test scenarios. For example: "national purchase of materials from our production", ”national purchases of material with third party parts”, “purchase of local services”, “asset acquisitions without Purchase Order”, “asset acquisition with PO”, etc.
Remember for UAT you need to think on “end-to-end” process.

Hi , "but suggest", Sorry, what i said it is what i can suggest. Again, Based on the scenarios and the steps involved on them the customer needs to estimate the resources. In my experience there is no a mathematical formula, Because the customer is the one that knows their resources, who knows how many people are available for that kind of assignation, and if the resource can be assigned FT o PT. Regards
Only with numbers of GAPS and DELTA identified , I dont think we can find out expected test cases , you have to categorize further in various task and subtasks . Refer to SAP Roadmap for S4HANA Greenfield implementation ,it provides accelerator for Test Strategy .
