Cannot connect to S/4HANA Cloud instance (Embedded Steampunk)

Hello everyone,

I would like to try out the new ABAP Environment on S/4HANA Cloud (Embedded Steampunk). After trying to log on to the system using ADT I get the following error:

No authorization to access the resource /sap/bc/adt/core/http/reentranceticket.

Do I have to set something else on S/4HANA Cloud or in my user to reach the ABAP Environment from ADT?

Hello Victor,

please try the following:

1) Ensure that a developer role / developer catalogue is assigned to your user
2) On the third page of the ADT project creation wizard select the button "Copy Logon URL to Clipboard". Then manually open a new incognito browser window and paste the URL into the browser address line and press enter. A logon page appears in the browser where you need to make sure to type in your developer user.

The second case can be helpful if you are the owner of multiple users (e.g. a developer-user and an admin-user). In that case you need to ensure that you actually use the developer-user in the ADT-triggered browser logon, not the admin-user. This can be tricky, e.g. if you have been logged on in your main browser session as admin before, because the browser will then decide to reuse the existing admin-logon-session. So therefore using a fresh browser session (a new incognito browser-session or using a completely different browser) can help to get a fresh logon where you need to use your developer-user.
