Hello martyss,

Open your model > go to "Data Management" > turn on "notify me of refresh failures by email".

Note: Unfortunately Administrator can not add users under notifications yet.

Please note that in case of "Cloud Agent" as well, one can add emails for notification. This gets triggered in case Cloud Agent goes down.

Beside system events notification can be turned on under Administration > Notifications > Add user or email

This form of notification usually get triggered during system update confirmation from SAP Cloud services or during an SAC outage.
