Need help, at Improvement Request

Hi Community,

I'am facing a problem with min/max values in ItemMasterData Warehouse lines.

When adding min/max to the lines.(Manage Inventory by Warehouse is ticked)

Starting to fill the min. Inventory (OITW.MinStock) leads to the Minimum (OITM.MinLevel) in top.

This does not make any problems. Than you enter a Max. Inventory (OITW.MaxStock) and receive the same result in Maximum (OITM.MaxLevel).

Adding another Min. Inventory e.g. 3 leads to an error-message and the item could not be updated.

It is urgent for our spare-part department, to use this feature and that the Quantities in OITM will not be checked if Manage Inventory by Warehouse is ticked.

So I raised an Improvement request.

Compare Min/Max when Manage Inventory by Warehouse is checked in warehouse lines

It would be helpful if you could vote for it too, if you think that is a good feature.

Thank yo for reading and your time

regards Lothar

Could be a way. One more or less, doesn't matter

In the MRP, can you choose which warehouses to take into account?

I ask because we don't use the MRP. I had to build my own with the SDK, because B1 did not have that functionality when we started using it.

Hi johan.hakkesteegt,

yes, MRP has a step where you choose which warehouses to take into consideration.

And loh, I already voted some time ago for this request, it really is a shame to have such a stupid restriction.

Hi Lothar,

I voted for your idea, but it is probably best not to hold your breath. I posted my suggestion for grouping hierarchy of master data in 2011, it was then planned for version 10 a couple of years ago, and now it has been set back to planned long term, meaning that we will see a considerable drop in temperature in hell before they get to it.

That said, you can work around it by setting all none-relevant max inventories to say some theoretical maximum number (for example 9999999999). Or did you consider this already?

Johan

Hi Johann,

thank you for your help.

We already live with this workaround, but we planned to use MRP so I hope it won't fall back on our feets.

I know that you need a little bit of luck, with an improvement request. But hey,.... I can give an example from the other side.

I raised an idea on 21.04.2022 (you voted for it, too 😉 ) and it has been released in the last update.

It would be nice, if you follow me here in the community, too. So I could write you private messages.

Hi Lothar,

In what way do you think the workaround might affect the MRP?

Hi Johann,

I can't fill up the all warehouse to max. So I had so exclude the warehouse with 9999 erverytime

How about creating one dummy warehouse, and setting only this one's maximum to 9999? In other words, don't use that warehouse for anything else.
