Hello,
I'm experiencing an error message from 'SAP GUI security' that I'm unable to find information or a solution on.
The context of this error message is this:
1. I've implemented SAML authentication on our R/3 system and are using the solution in this blog (SAML2 SSO for SAP GUI) to download an SAP shortcut file that will open in the SAP GUI.
2. The code provided works and the SAP shortcut file is downloaded, in Firefox (but not Edge or Chrome, that's another issue).
3. When I first tested this, the shortcut opened without issue and logged me into the R/3 system successfully.
4. Upon further testing I'm now getting an error message stating:
'SAP GUI security.
Cannot split connection string; (this is the error message in question)
C:\users\path-to-AppData-local-temp\sap-shortcut.sap
*After I receive the error message above, if I double click on the actual 'SAP shortcut' file it opens successfully into the R/3 system.(?) So, when it first downloads I get the SAP GUI Security error message, but in the temp folder if I double click on the shortcut file it opens successfully- don't know why.
I have looked online, through SAP documentation provided for SAP GUI Security and forums with no luck. I've also deleted all existing SAP rules setup, tested (no luck) then re-entered string for that server and still no luck.
Any help or direction is much appreciated.
Cheers, Paul
