Hide the measure object in SAP Design Studio

Former Member

Hi,

I have a scenario wherein my crosstab has 4 dimension objects and 1 measure object. I need to hide that measure object. I only want to display the dimension objects in my table (objects from the rows in the "Edit Initial display").

Please let me know on how to achieve this.

Thanks,

Antara

Hi Antara,

In earlier versions of Design Studio, it was definitely possible to remove the Measures dimension in the Initial View, as evidenced in my blog Design Studio Innovation Series – Topic 1: Making a Case for a Larger SDK Result Set. This loophole seems to have been closed in the later versions of Design Studio whereby now at least one measure appears to be mandatory in the Initial View. It doesn't appear to be possible to remove all measures in the Initial View any more.

There are two options you can try to meet your requirement:

1) Apply the technique described in the following blog to hide the measures columns in your crosstab: SAP Design Studio – Showing/Hiding Crosstab Columns with Measures with CSS and Scripting

2) Create a new version of your data source (BW BEx Query, HANA View or Universe) at the backend which does not include any measures.

Mustafa.

Hi Antara,

Other work-around is to use column Widths of the cross tab, as Measure(s) are the last column(s) with in the cross-tab.
For example, if the cross-tab width is 200px, you can set the column width to 50px each so that only 4 dimension columns are visible and the last column which is measure in your case is kind of hidden.
