Hi Experts,

Do we have concept of dummy entities(Consolidation unit) in GR?

It seems Sap has provided an option for considering the consolidation unit for dummy purpose to post consolidated entities from 2021 version.- Screenshot provided for reference.

One of the other tools uses the dummy entity to record the elimination adjustment as well as the top sided entries(it seems that it is most generic practice).

What I have understand in GR is that, eliminations happens on the same entity by reversing it with clearing account and top sided adj happened in the same entity @GC Level

Can someone please confirm my understanding.

Regards,

Saleha Begum.

I've used the 'Cons Unit is Partner Unit Only' option to allow for a suspense trading partner from a GL interface to flow through into GR without being rejected. I could also see using it if you have companies that will be partner units, but not yet ready to be consolidated a cons unit. (Perhaps do to a multi-phase rollout? I wouldn't consider it a dummy entity, though.

The eliminations are booked to a different posting level (20) that requires both the cons unit and partner unit to be part of the consolidation group you're reporting on. This is handled via the CDS views feeding the Fiori apps. Consolidation entries are posting level 30, and made specifically to a cons group. Dummy companies, elimination companies, adjustment companies, etc, are not used or required.

Hope that help,
