Hi

I am in mid of installing SAP NW 7.31 installation. Details are as below

O/S : AIX

DB : DB2

SWPM : 10 SP19

Tool is unable to identify the SAPEXEDB file. I have gone through the log. Except SAPEXEDB it is able to read other files in the folder. There is no issue in the permission. I changed the file location, giving short name to the folder without '_', but problem still persist. Anyone has fixed this, please let me know.

Thanks in advance

Surya.

Hi Surya.

Take the backup of existing kernel files. and then rename the SAPEXECDB_XXXXXX.SAR to SAPEXECDB.SAR & SAPEXE_XXXXXX.SAR to SAPEXE.SAR. retry the installation

Dear Surya,

this SWPM dialog lets you either choose between a kernel media you have downloaded from the Service Marketplace

(e.g. 51051176_3, 721 EXT UC Kernel which would be for AIX/Netweaver 7.31) or specify the paths to separate kernel

media archives. Without knowing the entries from the sapinst_dev.log, it's not easy to say what the cause is.

SAPEXEDB_801-10011317.SAR should be the one you should specify in the last line shown in your screenshot.

Make sure the location has enough free space on the file system for extraction and of course the necessary permissions for the installation user to access it.

Best regards,

Hendrik

Dear Hendrik,

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry for the late update. I finished the installation. Raised an incident with SAP. SAP Support suggested me to use the below files. But, it is very confusing, screen says “(Any version supporting your NW release)”. I wasted my time by downloading all the Kernel and tried one by-one, relaying on the message.

SAPEXEDB_801-10011317
SAPEXE_801-10011318
SAPEXEDB_801-10011317.SAR
SAPEXE_801-10011318.SAR
