the page can not be displayed

Hi all,

I successfully installed WebAS640 SR1 abap stack,java add-in,IKS(internet knowledge servlet),Content server,Trex server,Enterprise portal and Content mangement and collabration.

Till yesterday it was working fine and everything is OK.

I just restarted the server and started the SAP instance.

All the message server,dispatcher are showing green color and all the WorkProcess are also in Wait stage.

Now,in internet explorer,when i give the url-http://hostname:portnumber,it has to display the SAP Netweaver,SAP Web Application Server Home page.

But it is giving as "the page cannot be displayed".

Previously,i am able to view that.Now,i am unable connect to SDM,Visual Composer,even the Portal page is also not displaying.Earlier it is working fine and able to do all type of configurations in Portal.

Please help me.

Hi Venkat

i think J2EE server is not started.

http://j2eehost:j2ee_port

if J2EE server is running u get the J2EE engine Start page.

it's not display , start the J2EE form ABAP client

SMICM -> Administration ->J2EE server ->

u can perform any method to rsstart the J2EE server.

after this wait for 5 min. also check ur windows task manager.

u see the 3 jlaunch.exe under process with user sapserviceSID

Hai kaushal,

U r exactly right.J2ee server is failed.But,how come it is showing green status in Management console.I started the J2ee server from SMICM and waited for 5 min.But still no progress.

I tried this,SMICM->Administrator->J2ee server->Restart->yes and waited for 10 min.But still i am unale to get the J2ee start page.

check the log file

<drive:>\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS<instance_number>\j2ee\cluster\server0\log

when u start the J2EE server from SMICM check 3 jlaunch.exe under process with user sapserviceSID (in windows task manager under process)

Thanks for ur reply.But there is no 3 jlaunch.exe in the process in task manager when i start the J2ee server.

please find the std_dispatcher file in work directory,

HI Venkat

problem with message server of J2EE Engine.

check the service file under.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

check whether following service is define or not.

sapmsSID ---> 36<J2ee instance number>/tcp

and also do the following.

stop the Instance form MMC. clcik on SID right click ->ALL task start.

wait for some time and check wther J2EE server is running or not.

also check the trace file dev_ms

Thanks for ur reply.Actually i installed abap stack first and then java addin.

Actually my abap instno-00 and java instno-01

As u said,i changed the sapmsSID->3601/tcp(before it is 3600/tcp).I stopped the instance and then taken the restart of servera and started the server.Then the java instance has started but the abap stack doesnt.the message server showing destination unreachable.

Then also the same problem persists.

Plse advice.

don't do that u have to specifi ms server port for ABAP

since u can't define service with diffrent port so first chang it to

sapmsSID ---> 3600/tcp

now open the J2EE instance properties file from following location.

C:\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS01\j2ee\cluster

open instance.properties in word pad at end u find following.

instance.enabled=yes

instance.install.dir=C:\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS01\j2ee

instance.ms.host=host

instance.ms.port=3601 -

---

>check it

instance.osLibsPath=C:/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS01/j2ee/os_libs

instance.runAction=NONE

instance.runMode=NORMAL

and also check other property.

also make sure that port 3601 is free

Thanks for your reply.I had checked the open instance.properties and found that all are OK.

and also checked the instance.ms.port=3601.

It is there and everything is fine.

I am unable to find out where exactly the problem is.

The java server is working fine,and it is showing the green status in MMC console.Only my problem is i am unable to open the the any home page like http://hostname:portnumber/ or any url also.Even the visual administrator,SDM are not connecting.

I know that there is some problem with java server only.

Is there any chance with memory issues.

first of all u use JAVA ADD on installation so if java server is not running or down than after u get green status in MMC console. this green status for ABAP system.

so with this green status u can't predict that java server is up or down.

hi ya may be it's memory issue.

increase the virtual memory of system (3 times RAM)

increse heap size.

1. Start the configtool in <J2EE_HOME>/configtool directory

2. Browse the tree in the left pane

cluster-data -> Global server configuration -> services -> classpath_resolver

3. In the right pane click on the key javac.Xmx

4. In the Value edit field on the bottom insert 256 or more

5. press the Set button in the upper right corner

6. choose from the Menu File->Apply and confirm all windows popping up

7. restart the instance

First of all,i would like to thank you for all the help and guidance.

i already increased the virtual memory.As my physical RAM is 2.5GB.I put my virtual memory as 8GB.

But,of no us.Still i am getting page cannot displayed in url-http://hostname:portname/

I tried the way as u said in config tool also.And stopped the instance and started once again.

And set the javac.Xmx as 256.

The same problem persists.

When i try logging into visual administrator,and click on connect button,i am getting the message as

Unable to lookup connection default

http://hostname:8101/msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of parameters

When i give the same in explorer, i am getting the message as version 1.0

J2EE server is not running so u can't connect to server from visual administrator.

I have same JAVA ADD in installation for XI.

when i start the windows server only the central instance is runnig automatically. the ABAP+JAVA instance not running AUTO.

than i stop the central instance from MMC.

than i right click on SID all task -> start.

the abap instance running within a minute and MMC show green status for all instance, but J2EE server takes 5 minute to start.

i check in windows task manager under process.

the 3 jlaunch.exe with three differrent process id is running and consume the cpu and memory after some time (3 to 5 min)it's stable (no cpu use).

when u start ur instance check for these exe in task manager. and see what happend.

I stopped the instance and started the instance again.But i am unable to see jlaunch.exe under process in task manager.

when i restarted the server,bootstrap should happened.But i am unable to get the recent file for bootstrap.

proivde the follwoing log file,

dev_disp,dev_dispatcher,dev_jcontrol,dev_ms from

C:\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS<instance Number>\work

don't write detail here just send it on my mail

Check which ports are really used by your server. Start Config tool (you can search for configtool.bat file in your SAP directory). Choose 'Yes' when asked whether to use default database settings. Expand "Cluster data" --> instance_idXXXXXX -> Dispatcher_idXXXXX --> services --> http. Check bottom part of the screen for "Local Properties". You will see which ports your server is actually using.
