Hi abdullmalik , hi c5e08e0478aa4727abc4482f5be390b2

Thank you for notifying me.

I apologise for not getting back to you sooner, and for not noticing one aspect of your issue.

The "comment" in the license says "31st March, 2022" but if you read through the license, the actual expiry is "31st March, 2023."

This has been the case since at least 18.05.2022.

So: If you downloaded since then, could you please remove your existing VM and try again with the same installation files.

Just ignore the comment asserting the date.

Don't use SAPCAR - it isn't necessary.

Follow one of these 2 guides:

The talk you through the download as well.

I apologise for the inconvenience - if that doesn't work, I'm very sorry, but my colleagues have confirmed that we cannot help any further. If it works, please tell me.

Thanks and best wishes,

Julie.

I actually installed in nov.2020 and it still runs fine, only needs periodic update of the SAP license but no big deal.

If I understand correctly, the files I downloaded back then can be safely thrown away but abdullmalik should just go ahead and try, right?

Hi Julie,

tried to connect to my Dev Edition 7.52 SP04 today, but the connection was refused with error message

"Logon not possible (error in license check)"

Looks like a license problem, but my SYBASE license file is just fine, valid until 31st March, 2023.
And the login was working in Dec 2022 - what has changed?

Thanks,
Jürgen

Hello,

I guess the reason is the SAP license rather than the ASE license. Have a look at note 1512766, maybe you can find the solution there.

Kind regards

Jan

Hi Jan,

thanks for the hint! The root cause was quite simple - the initial SAP NPL license had expired.
Installation of a new license (for the next 3 months) resolved the issue.

Thanks,
Juergen

Hi Andrea,

For some reason, I can't respond to your comment, except here (?).

However, yes, you can throw away those files, and download them again if you need them.

Hi Abdul,

Yes, please just try with your existing download. The license should be valid, without your having to manually inject it as Andrea described here.

If I have misunderstood you, and you have already tried this, then I am sorry, I cannot provide further support for the developer edition in this instance.

However, please use one of the guides listed here.

Best wishes,

Julie.

Get a new license here, as explained in the blog post introducing this specific trial version.

there are a number of suggestions in the blog I linked above, have a look and see what applies best to your case; this one looks interesting: first download the generic Sybase license and place it under

/ media / sf_abaps4 / server / TAR / x86_64 to / sybase / NPL / SYSAM-2_0 / licenses

the right folder... then run the installation again.

I don't know what to make of this message, I'm afraid some steps required to recover from the expired Sybase license might be either missing or unclear, can you help?
