About Renaming the Web Dispatcher in a Standalone Configuration

We are planning to rename the standalone Web Dispatcher.
Is it possible to rename the hostname of the Web Dispatcher?

Hello,

The hostname of the Web Dispatcher is defined during the installation in its host. For renaming it, you have the following options:

1. As an alternative way to rename the hostname of the Web Dispatcher, you can add an alias to your DNS, as stated in this SAP Community page, then perform the access using the alias.
   If you really want to rename the hostname, proceed to the next options.
2. Uninstall the Web Dispatcher and reinstall it changing the hostname accordingly during the installation (section 2.5 of this wiki page provides guidance of where to find it).
   You could make a backup of the current profile of the Web Dispatcher before uninstalling it so you can copy the relevant configuration to the new profile.
3. Verify whether the System Rename Function of SWPM tool can be used for changing the hostname of a Web Dispatcher installation.
