Different Purchasing Unit of Measure based on SITE

We need to have different Ordering Units of measure based on the site for same article/same vendor. There are multiple reasons for this need. The PIR seems to only allow one primary Unit of measure. I had read somewhere that setting up a different purchasing organization would allow the different Units of Mearsure, however in testing this it did not work. Any change to the article/vendor at one purchasing organization updated the other purchasing organization. I know that a PO could be created with changing the Unit of measure manually, however we need to use replenishment functionality due to the # of articles and the frequency of articles ordered.

We have 100s of articles across 90+ sites.

In master data you can have ordering unit in purchasing view other than base unit of measure but you too can have different ordering unit in material master/article based on different site/plant in PIR(purchase info record)

What is your business background and why PIR(purchase info record) info not helping on ordering unit !

I am SAP business lead for merchandising team, but have been working with the technical team to resolve this issue.

Since SAP will only allow 1 PIR for Article/Vendor combination, it will not allow different purchasing units of measure on the PIR basic data tab. That is the only way i know how to establish the purchasing rules for replenishment. Also on the Material Master Data tab you can only select 1 UPC to be the ordering UPC. (this is all the to best of my knowledge - if there is another way around this.. please share

Beside Order unit in purchasing view of your material you can activate Var. OUn(Variable Purchase Order Unit Active) and can have different unit of measures with conversion factors with Base unit of measure in Additional Data(Ctrl+F6). Additionally based on vendor along with plant, material you can have a order unit in source list(ME01) also!

You can test in test system based possible scenarios ,perhaps the above options helpful.
