Maintenance call objects cycle variation

I have a maintenance plan which has cycles of 1M,3M,6M,1Y and 3Y

I was implementing a strategy based plan it has a scheduling period of 2Y

When I start scheduling for the maintenance plan for first time it shows maintenance call objects for 3Y after that when I do new start it shows maintenance call objects for 2Y.why so?
