Advantage Database Large Temp Files making database inoperable

Advantage Database is generating large temp files after we get over 60 users logged into the database. The database becomes unresponsive once we exceed that user threshold. The large temp files we have never seen before.

We reindexed the database this weekend but the problem persists.

Anyone had similar issues or any ideas what could be causing this issue?
