Downgrade Bidder to Vendor in SRM

Is it possible to convert a vendor to a bidder in SRM?

We have requirements where we dont want to lock vendors as we'd like them to be able to tender but we dont want them as a full supplier so they don't need to maintain records unnecessarily.
