Query Active Directory using BODS 4.2?

We have our Data Team asking BASIS if we can setup a connection for Data Services to read information from Active Directory, and we are unsure if this is even possible. The method used would need to leverage LDAP, so we have explained to the team this is not like a simple database connection that we can make for them. This is not for authentication, but rather they need to pull some user data from AD.
