DI Application nodes

As per the supplement available on Discovery centre. DI nodes have 8 CPUs and 32 GB RAM while it mentions Application nodes have 16CPUs and 64GB RAM. My customer is looking to increase the number of core in each node. How can we convert the DI nodes into application nodes?
