SMS/text/mobile-based notifications for order and shipment status - to internal/external users

Hi,

Is it possible to enable SMS notifications to both internal and external users, in S/4 HANA Cloud.

Specifically in an order management scenario, the users want an SMS or text notifications on order status or shipment status, in addition to the current email notifications; they also want to enable external notifications this way, to suppliers etc.

These days, texts are checked more often than email, and that's the background. Because of this, even if not SMS, a phone notification would also fit the bill.

So far, I've found this article on SAP Mobile Card, which mentions ways to enable internal Fiori notifications Question - Push and SMS notifications from S4HC ES (community.sap)

The same article answer also mentions API's, but these were for external systems. They also weren't specifically SMS: Purchase Requisition - Send Status Update Notifications - SAP Help Portal

Does anyone have information on SMS/text/phone notifications for this supplier/order communications scenario?

Hi,
Configuration and proxying through SAP Cloud Platform mobile services is covered here https://blogs.sap.com/2016/11/10/sap-fiori-client-sp13/#smpproxy.

Configuring access to S/4Hana Cloud would be similar to proxy to On Premise system assuming your S/4Hana Cloud Launchpad is exposed externally through Web Dispatcher.

If using SAP Cloud Platform mobile services, you should have access to Cloud Build (https://blogs.sap.com/2017/10/05/sap-cloud-platform-mobile-services-debuts-the-cloud-build-feature/) that provides the ability to create a Fiori Client application in the mobile services without custom development using SDK.

Alternatively, if you have access to the SAP Mobile Platform SDK, you can build a custom Fiori Client.
