Role Based UI Data Masking in Fiori

Hi All,

We are trying to perform UI data masking for some fields(Ex:PERNR) in Fiori apps(Example: Manage journal, Display Line Items Ledger) .

By using below two fiori apps trying to perform data masking.

1. Manage Sensitive Attributes

2. Manage Context Attributes

We installed required add-on's

1. UIDP-100

2. UIMUI5-100

3. Activated all the SICF services, ODATA Services and Business Functions(/uidp/masking_bf).

Steps we performed in Manage sensitive attribute app

1. created logical attribute

2. went to technical mapping tab->ui5 section-> added( odata service, entityset, property)

3. configuration tab-> Masking configuration section->masking enabled> Selected role based authorization->assigend our role->Field level action selected as MASK_FIELD->Trace when revealed->Reveal on Demand Disabled.

We followed the below blog to perform the same in Manage sensitive attributes app(But this blog is in completely SPRO related to our role based requirement).

https://blogs.sap.com/2020/01/08/field-masking-for-sapui5-role-based-masking-scenario-in-shop-app-of...

We went below help.sap.com the documentation is complete configuration related to SPRO but we are doing this data masking in Manage sensitive attribute app.

https://help.sap.com/docs/UI_DATA_PROTECTION_MASKING_FOR_S4HANA/a884fc9a091748c9a1f2a8c376dcd5bf/866....

But the end the masking is not working for us, its really helpful can anyone suggest is any add-on's required or we missed any steps to achieve data masking.

Is there any documentation available for step-by-step to perform role based data masking for fiori apps.

Regards,

Chandra.

Hi Chandra,

There's documentation on how to work with the Manage Sensitive Attributes app here: Manage Sensitive Attributes App | SAP Help Portal

Also, if you've activated the in app help, you should be able to see a guided tour from within the app itself. This goes through all the steps for role-based masking.

Hope this helps!

Sarah
