Hello All,
As a part of the EC implementation I have started to work on reports. We are trying to build the reports mostly in Canvas. As i was going through some documents I came to know that for Detailed Reporting Live data source is used and for Advance Reporting Replicated Data source is used. Can you please let me know the difference between the Live and Replicated Data source. I there a way I can see in the EC system?
Thanks,
Salish
The copy happens multiple times. I don't exactly have details about the intervals.
I usually go for advanced since it already comes with numerous sap created reporting templates.
Also I feel advanced reporting more user interactive compared to detailed reporting.

Hi Salish,
As per my understanding, SAP replicates their data base to keep multiple copies of data. This is done as a security measure to have backup and also for improving performance.
i.e. most of the analytics tool get their data from replicated data server and hence not taking toll on the actual live server which manages the real time data transactions.
Similarly in above - detailed reporting uses the 100% real time data from live server (i.e it will also catch the on going transactional data in real time).
advanced reporting gets its data from the replicated(copy) DB of the live server. (this is almost real time because the data from live server is copied to replicated DB on regular intervals)
Thank you,
