1. Go to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Activate Roadmap and access the Project Planning. zip accelerator. This should be your starting point as this contains all tasks that are fundamental to success for an S/4HANA Cloud implementation.

2. Plan for Organizational Change Management(OCM) and plan to execute the activities at the right time. Remember that an S/4HANA Cloud implementation is an organizational change and business process change for a customer.

3. It is not necessarily about the tool that you use to manage the project plan but you need to make sure that the tasks are bucketed correctly by time boundaries and you should understand the critical path.

I also recommend that as part of the Prepare phase you consider to take the opportunity to do a knowledge assessment by requesting the Continuous Quality Check (CQC) which is offered as part of the product (i.e. no extra fee).

More information on this can be found in the Activate Roadmap Viewer here: Request Knowledge Assessment.

Modifying the response of June 7, 2022 with the latest tool set available, I'd recommend using SAP Cloud ALM for implementation to manage the project with embedded SAP Activate methodology instead of downloading the project planning zip file and using external tooling. Cloud ALM is available to the customer at no additional cost as part of their cloud subscription for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition.
