Enter non accounting data in SAP

Hello experts,

We are implementing SAP Group reporting and we are planning to release financial data directly from ACDOCA or using GRDC. We have a business case where we need to enter non accounting data (analytical data without debit/credit logic) for group repoting purposes only, and we would like to know which are the options available at this point in SAP:

  • Enter data using forms in SAC
  • Enter data using extension ledgers and statistical accounts in SAP FI
  • Enter data directly in group reporting (ACDOCU) if possible...

Please feel free to share any option that can respond to this need,

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mehdi

Group Reporting Data Collection is a web based app that allows input forms to be built to post directly in to ACDOCU. They have recently enhanced the cloud version of this to allow GRDC driven master data specifically which would be perfect for additional information. Otherwise, you can create a new subitem class with additional infromation fs items. between fs items and sub items, you can create what you need for additional information and they are not requried to balance.

Thanks

HI Medhi,

I don't believe using Extension ledgers in S/4 will provide you any solution. Instead:

So the most common way I know of to enter non financial data into Group Reporting is through Statistical Entries directly in Group Reporting. You can setup FS ITEMS that are STATISTICAL and then enter non balancing JE's that include QTY and Amounts against these Statistical FS Items. These can then be used in custom reports (Analysis for Office, SAC, etc.) for example Earnings per Share. Enter # of shares via a Statistical account and then do an AO calculation at the bottom of an Income Statement where you divide net income by the # of shares. But this is limited data to again only QTY and Amounts and does not include comments/notes.

Another option that is newer but improving rapidly is GRDC. See recent blog post below...

Many of you asked for more information on our new GRDC “ad hoc item” feature (released in Q1-2022), which:

  • Provides advanced flexibility to S/4HANA for group reporting users via GRDC
  • Gives the ability GRDC business users to create form-specific master data
  • Enables GRDC users to design forms to collect data for business scenarios such as notes to the annual statements, tax reports, sustainability or integrated reports.

You can find more information on GRDC ad hoc items:

Hope this helps.

If you have GRDC, then enter non accounting data directly in group reporting (ACDOCU).
If you dont have GRDC, then enter non accounting data in S4 HANA and then integrate in group reporting (ACDOCU).
