Need help implementing note 2468458 - A new 'My Saved Search"

Dear Community,

Anyone care to help me implementing this note? It starts with "simply", but sadly it's not that simple, at least to me.

How do I know what's my "home" component? Is it AIC_HOME? How do I add component usage to it? Is this note omitting these details on purpose?
