FIORI HCM and GUI

Hello Gurus,

Our client is currently using standard SAP S4HANA GUI, and they want to start using Fiori.

As I have no previous experience with Fiori, I wanted to ask if client can have the same HR module functionalities using Fiori interface, as using standard SAP s4hana soulution,

For example, can client use standard Fiori app that have functionalities as PA40, or we need to develop them.

Same thing for OM operations and using transaction PP01-02, etc.

Can apps provided in SAP Fiori app library provide mentioned functionalities, or we need to develop custom apps?

Thanks,

Hi, the purpose of Fiori is not to replace GUI completely. It is used to improve productivity by extending certain screens to Mobile/tab etc, so that, people can work flexibly.

Though, SAP's aim is to replace GUI completely in future.

For PA40 is concerned, we use infogroups and other config steps to create hiring actions. End user screen will be like a sequence of infotype screens will appear for hiring an employee.

Same thing cannot be represented in HTML forms easily. How many people are hiring in your company? very few right. So, you may have to check the feasibility of developing custom apps in fiori as per the usage.

HCM is concerned, SAP is having different roadmap (like Successfactors, HR Forms etc.). You may have to invest your developer resources judiciously by making analysis.

Hi, thanks for clearing this out.

So basically what we have in SAP Fiori app library is what we can use as standard apps, and the rest we will have to develop with ABAP team as I understand it.

Once again thank you for answer 🙂

Hi Vukasin,

There are 1000s of standard applications so I do not know them all but you can search on the t-code such as PP01 and it will link to any known Fiori app. In this case https://fioriappslibrary.hana.ondemand.com/sap/fix/externalViewer/#/detail/Apps('CKAPP01')/S23OP

You can look at the linked documentation to make sure it has the functionality it needs, but in most cases the apps are designed to replace the GUI links.

For tcodes that do not show you can set tiles up for GUI apps. https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2700282

Hope this helps
