Why the scripted views are obsolete?

Hello Gurus,

I have heard that the scripted views in SAP HANA are going to be obsolete? Can anybody tell me what is the exact reason for this? Is this due to any performance issue?

Scripted calculation views are under the hood table functions.

As table functions can be used as data source in graphical calculation views now, there is no need anymore for a dedicated scripted calculation view object. The same functionality you were able to do with scripted calc. views is possible with a graphical calc. view + table function combination.
