Hi Experts,
We have Deprecated standard CDS View and successor CDS View.
1. Deprecated CDS View have some dependencies ( Custom CDS View)
2. We have created Dependent CDS Views from Scratch and want to replace this with previous one wherever its used.
3. but when I am trying to edit it and selecting the object its not giving me delete option.
so what should I do ?
Do I need to create every dependent custom CDS View and its dependent CDS View from Scratch?
Hi Ruchi,
First, please make sure, the custom CDS view that you're trying to edit is free of any dependency i.e. please check if this is the already linked to a comm.scenario,Custom Analytical Queries etc. This can be view on the top left corner underneath the name of your custom CDS view.
Second: I see there is a join condition that obviously exist, so you need to remove/delete the join condition and then you should be able to modify the result to add a new custom CDS view.
Third, if you have to replace the primary CDS view itself, then obviosuly you're building your custom CDS view from the scratch but just by maintaining the name of the view.
Hope this clarifies, if yes, you're free to close the thread. Thanks!

I tried deleting the join condition but its throwing me error.
so, I thing its only possible to create from scratch.
But while creating from scratch, I am getting issue such that.
Some of the associated data types are not available as shown.
and while creating the association same as old CDS view its giving error while selecting same cardinality, even if everything is same.
Hi Ruchi,
Unfortunately, I cannot point out any further direction than what was already pointed out earlier, the error message is because of some 'dependencies' that's linked to your existing CDS View. Please review the KB article below that articulate the solution to your error message: https://userapps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/en/2997519.
If the issue persist, I would just request to have an incident in place with SAP to review the issue in your tenant specifically.
Good Luck! Amith Nair
