After checking in your system, we noticed that on your machine that after you had installed 3rd party software, Comspec environment variable was no longer pointing to C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe

This was preventing Chrome from starting the ChromeBroker when enabling the SAP Intelligent RPA browser extension.

1.Hence edit the variable value to %SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe as shown below if it not pointing to the C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe.

2.After changing the variable, In the command prompt verify if ComSpec Variable is pointing to the C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe

3.Restart the chrome browser and check if you disable/enable the extension the ChromeBroker appears in your task manager

These steps have solved the problem for janarthanan_iss.

alexandregiguereCan you check above steps at your end.It may solve the issue

chaitanyapriya.puvvada no it does not works, the variable value was already correct

did you try to run your test on Windows 11 which is now the new standard?

also tried to run it in a VM like with Parallel Desktop, it is very easy to reproduce, there is a DLL problem when installing the MSI, looks below in the chat for the screenshot

thanks

Did you try all the solutions mentioned on the KBA and also restarted your system after implementing them?

Hope all your browser instances are killed/closed from the Taskbar and then you tried recapturing the application?

The issue is solved after our discussion.Sharing the solution to the community.

The user was having a MAC with VDI installed.

When you are testing your automation, make sure that you open the project in the Browser window in the same VDI where the Desktop Agent is installed.

In test mode, the Agent would be local to your sytem.

In attended/unattended mode of execution, the automation executes in any of the machines where the Agent is installed.

Hi Janarthanan,

Just to be sure, did you updated your Desktop Agent and all dependencies in project?

Lucie

Hi Lucie Fiedlerova

Yes, I updated all the dependencies, but still got the error.

In the project, the agent version is showing as Registered, but previously it was showing LOCAL & REGISTERED

I suspect the this could be the reason my project is not able to communicate the desktop agent
