EPM context bar vanishes

I have the issue that when I open a report in BPC that contains 2 reports linking to 2 different format sheers the EPM context bar vanishes. However, if I then open a second report the context bar reappears. If I then close this second file the context bar vanishes again.

I have checked the user options and the epm context bar is ticked to be enabled.

Is there a solution around this as it is frustrating having to open multiple reports to get the context bar to appear and also limits functionality if users are used to refreshing report parameters using the context bar.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • We are also experiencing similar behavior. When Excel is open the dimensions are visible in the EPM context. When I open a non-EPM report and subsequently close it, the EPM dimensions within the EPM context disappear. In order to restore access to the EPM dimensions, I have to close all Excel windows and then log back in to EPM. We are currently using EPM for Microsoft with Office 2016 and SP 31

    Hello Vadim,

Sorry in the delay in responding. Unfortunately my EPM add in got wiped for a few days. I will try and clarify further. When I use the EPM add in in Excel I would expect to see the context bar being populated with dimensions as below.

However, if I open a file that has two reports on it and both have the inherit options unticked via the edit report function then the EPM context bar vanishes (the above appears blank). If I then choose to open a separate singular report which has the inherit option box ticked then the EPM context bar appears on the first file I have opened. I am hoping to find a way round this so I don't have to constantly have two reports opened at once.

    Does that make more sense?
