Member formulas in BPC 10.1 Embedded

Hello,

I want to add a simple formula to some dimensions members.

In BPC Standard I had the following:

Member A from dimension DIM1 has a property, FORMULAH2, which have this value: [DIM1].[H2].[B], that is, it takes the value from B.

How can I create this formula in BPC Embedded?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Christina,

As per this blog by Gregor....

https://blogs.sap.com/2014/10/21/concepts-compared-bpc-standard-and-bpc-embedded/ Section 3.2

"The most important and fundamental difference is that in ‘BPC standard’ one can have ‘base members’ in a dimension and also calculated members, e.g. account C = account A + account B. This is never ever possible in ‘BPC embedded’, by definition any dimension member is base member and there don’t exist calculated dimension members. This comes from the design of the reporting engines, in ‘BPC standard’ this is an MDX engine and in ‘BPC embedded’ the BW Analytical Engine based on BW queries. In ‘BPC embedded’ this kind computations can be modeled as part of the BW query using the BW Query Designer. "

You will have to individually apply formulas to each member at the BEX Query level, as per my knowledge...

Thanks Priyanka,

I have been looking at the BEx but I have not seen anything I can modify in the dimension in order to add a formula.

I know I can add a formula in the key figure but I do not know if I should edit that or the dimension.

Nothing to modify in dimension!
