SAP IRPA vs SAP Job Scheduling

Hello Everyone,

We have a use case where on a daily basis we get a excel file and which manager upload to SAP directory and then we run a BAPI to create the transaction from that excel data.

We tried to automate the whole thing with SAP IRPA where automatically file will be uploaded from the local machine and then program will run.

I believe same thing can be done from SAP via some job scheduling. In this case which approach we should choose?

Regards,

MS

Hi,

I believe that the advantage lays in the automation (which you are already performing) and in the monitoring part of the IRPA. Together with Cloud ALM, this will provide you a superb overview of the success or failure of your job and will allow you to find more details on either case. It allows you to have detailed control over WHEN a jobs is to run, WHAT it is to do and even what it should be reporting to whomever you want. The monitoring details are easy to obtain and easy to read and interpret, allowing for quick action if needed.

Regards

David

Hello llyes,

Thanks for replying. Yes we are able to execute the automation with IRPA. My question was, can same objective be achieved without IRPA? Because it is just uploading a file from the local machine and then simply run the backend program. If yes, how SAP IRPA has advantages over normal job scheduling in SAP?

Hi Mayank,

I'm not sure about understanding your question correctly, can you provide us with more information?

You can schedule a job using IRPA to execute an automation automatically. Can you please tell me if your IRPA Project scheduling worked?
