Different/Incomplete Metrics list shown in Server

We are on Win 2016, SAP Business Obejcts 4.2 SP06 P13, clustered, with 2 CMS, 6 PRS nodes, and 2 tomcat servers.

While setting up a monitoring watch on user sessions, we noticed that the list of metrics displayed under one CMS is incomplete, while those under the other CMS are a full list. This list that displays keeps changing from time to time(not known when this will happen) and due to this the watches setup become invalid and does not store any historic data.

Anyone aware of such a behaviour?

Hello, Crhisty,

Thank you for responding. The two systems have exactly the same specifications and configurations in place. The discrepancy we noticed is not about the data the monitoring application stores, but even before. While creating a new watch on the 'User Sessions', this metric is seen under one CMS server, but not under the other. All that is listed under the other CMS are Server Running State, Health State.

Do the two CMS servers have the exact same hardware specs? I'm wondering whether there's possibly a memory issue on one of them.

Also, by default the metrics are stored in a Derby database. By default, one is set up on each of the CMS servers. When you're running a cluster, all of the servers should point to the same Derby database or (better option) configure the system to put data in your audit db. To do this you need to follow the instructions in Section 21.3 of the BI Platform Administrators Guide to configure the database.
