Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a project that aims to connect SAC to s4hana via live data connection, what I want to know is whether it's better to do the business logic on the SAC side or it's better to do it on the s4hana side by creating cds view, also I want to know the limits of live data connection on the performance side

regards

CDS view definitely needs to be created, tk. this will be a source for building a model in a sac (no matter live or import) and it is recommended to do basic calculations, especially capacious ones, on the side of the data source.

regarding restrictions when using live, you can look in this note, there is a convenient table for different versions of S4HANA

Hello bouirik,

Additionally, for rapid deployment you can use BW layer in S/4HANA side. BW queries then can be used for live connection.

Couple of benefits -

  • In most of the cases you can take advantage business contents.
  • Quick to develop and deploy.
  • Flexible compared to other mode of connection.
  • Query as well as info provider can be virtual.
  • Master data integration out of the box on S/4HANA side
  • Easy to maintain and support compared to CDS
  • More features and functions supported compared to CDS view based live connection.

Connection on SAC side will be- BW live connection, even though your data is sourced from S/4HANA.
