MRP Strategy 54

Hello folks,

Can someone help me with strategy 54,

i have a configurable material, and a configured material, i am trying to plan the configurable material using planning Variant. i have made the following settings but still i cannot see the requirement flow to Raw material level. only the planner order is created for the planning variant and not for the below level material/ Assembly

1 Create configuration profile for the configurable material

2. Create planning variant material and update the MRP 3 view the link to configurable material in the planning variant with the required value.

3. in CS40 maintain the link between the configurable material

4 Maintain type matching for the configurable material, maintain value for the characteristics and the assignment for the combination table. ( for the consumption of the PIR )

5 Maintain strategy 54 for both the configured and configurable material.

6 Maintain PIR for the planning variant material

Can anybody help me if i am missing some steps, there is no good documentation from SAP Side

Abhishek,

I'd recommend a few steps to troubleshoot:

1) Make sure the schedule line category of the customer requirement is driving MRP.

2) Check your total requirements for the planning variant (MD63-->total requirements) to see if the customer requirement was assigned to the PIR. PIRs will still show in the requirements plan, but will also show the assignment to the sales order and be reflected in MRP.

3) Make sure the PIR type and customer requirements type match what the strategy 54 is requiring. By default the documentation says KEKT for customer requirements and VSE for PIRs.

4) For good measure make sure consumption mode is set.

Variant Configuration with SAP by Blumöhr Et al. offers solid documentation on use of strategy 54.
