Team
we understand that mdg has a functionality to perform ie4n functions from mdg. We want to know if a technician in field is to perform ie4n in s4hana system ie say install a serialized equipment from a storage location , would this mean that inventory would also need to be replicated in mdg for those serialized parts and updates to equipment will then go from s4 to mdg?
Technicians won't have access to mdg but would perform installation in s4hana backend
Appreciate any inputs.
Hi Gaurav,
Please note technicians need to use IE4N to dismantle rather doing it directly in Transactional System. MDG would read mapped system equipment and its stocks to do Install/Dismantle.
Please note after approving IE4N MDG Change request , Stock would be depleted/increased by using standard function modules
Pre-requisite
1. Config
Set Configuration MDGIMG à Master Data Governance, Central Governance à Maintain Technical Settings for IE4N/ iPPE
2. Maintain User Parameter for Parameter ID /UGI/IPPE_CONFIG_ID as "Connecting system in above config"
Please refer how to guide for further details
Figure 1
Example Scenario receive goods in transactional and Installation of equipment
1.IE4N/MIGO Goods receipt or Transfer
2.Run Program /UGI3/CREATE_IDOC_EQUIP_SERIAL
3.Change request would get created in MDG with Status ( ESTO and Material and serial Number)
4.Approve Change request and Automatic Key mapping would gets created in Source and target equipment
5. Set Configuration MDGIMG Master Data Governance, Central Governance Maintain Technical Settings for IE4N/iPPE ( Ref Figure 1)
6.Maintain User Parameter /UGI/IPPE_CONFIG_ID as same as target systems IPPE Config.
7. If User wants to Do IE4N ( Installation ) , Do it from MDG ( Source) with Source equipment number, Material and serial Number as reference/
8. User can create EAM/AIW Change request
9. You would see a reduction or Increase in stock of Transactional systems for respective IE4N install and dismantle process.
Thanks
