Usage of Data of Custom Business Object of SAP Marketing Cloud in SAP Analytics Cloud

Hello together,

does anybody knows if it is possible to use the data of a Custom Business Object created in the SAP Marketing Cloud for a Model based on a Live Data Connection in the SAP Analytics CLoud?

If yes how to do so? We could not find it as a query.

Hi Oliver,

You can create a custom analytical query using the Custom Analytics Queries app using this CDS. Custom Analytical Queries | SAP Help Portal.

You can also create a custom CDS with this CDS and joining it with other CDS, in SMC, using the Custom CDS apps and then create a custom analytical query using the Custom Analytics Queries app using the custom CDS.

It depends what you want to do and which data you want to see and link.

Hi Oliver,

I don't understand what you are trying to do. Are you looking to use SAC on top of BW?

Are you using SAC Enterprise or the SAC bundled with SMC license?

In any case, to use SAC on top of BW, you need to extract data from SMC to BW. Note that only some views are enabled for extractions. Custom views are currently not extractable.

Hello Isabelle, no we are using SAC on top of the Marketing Cloud and here we would like to show data of a CBO inside a story. You have described before that when creating a CBO than normally a CDS is created.

Actually I could find the CDS View in the View Browser:

But afterwards when trying to create a new model in SAC the CDS View is not visible. Just queries are visible as a data source:

Do I have to create a query on basis of the CBO?

Hi Oliver,

Yes, I am aware of what is a CBO :). I just wanted to understand your use case.

When a CBO is created, depending of the options that you selected, an OData is created with a corresponding CDS view. You can see it in the View Browser app. It has the same name as the custom business object.

Hello Isabelle, thank you for the reply.

I have checked the CBO and there exists a CDS View:

The problem now is we use a Live connecton of type and system type SAP BW

and here the view is not appearing as a Data Source. Are we using the wrong system type to connect to SAP Marketing Cloud?

A custom business objects on what? You want to report on the data direct or link it to another BO? Can you give more details on what you want to do?

Hi Isabelle thank you for your reply.

We have a created a Custom Busines Object (CBO) for Customer specific Data. We want to report on the data of the CBO.

A CBO is kind of a table that can be created inside the SAP Marketing Cloud.
