Project Management Tool

Hi everyone,

my company is looking for a project management tool provided by SAP, which can document reports and automate the workflow (notify, task assignment,...). I found the Tool Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM), but our projects are usually small and not too complicated, so EPPM is maybe not suitable for our company.

I would like to know if there are any alternatives that fits our company better or does anyone know how to implement a fiori application for such purpose?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Cuong Luc

The EPPM Suite (PPM, CPM, and PS) is a full feature solution to portfolio and project management needs. The use of project management tools also centers around proper accounting of the project. Is this a concern in your case? Will you be collecting costs and revenues?

If you are just looking for checklists and item assignments you should consider CPM which contains checklist functionality and Issue and Change Request management along with document management. These can be implemented without a cost collecting project.

Dear Mr.Melching,

Thank you for your answer!

I don't think we need the costs and revenues management functionalities or anything related to accounting. The requirements are simply task specifications, notifications if something new added into projects, task assignment.

I just found out that SAP provides SAP Solution Manager for free, could you pls tell me whether it can fulfill the requirements I mentioned above?

Best regards,

Cuong Luc

Solution Manager is used to manage your SAP installation and maintenance, it is not a tool to manage your real business.

For your simple requirements you should investigate CPM.

Hi Mr.Melching,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion, could you pls tell me if we have to pay any fees for the CPM, I couldn't find any information on google. As I know, it is an add-on tool, can I assume it is free to use?

Thank you & best regards,

Cuong Luc

Yes, it is under it's own license.
