Hi all,

We are facing a problem with opening IB main page.

We restarted J2EE server yesterday. after restart the <b>"SXMB_IFR"</b> is NOT working. the URL is

<b>"http://icfxi1:50000/rep/start/index.jsp".</b> we checked Telnet IP address with service 50000. message saying "TEST FAILED". Whereas in SICF port information for HTTP only 8000 port is available. this port is recognizing in Telnet.

at the same time, while testing

the RFC connection <b>"INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI"</b>with connection type <b>"H"</b>

status bar message saying <b>"ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED"</b>

What could be the possible reason?

Thanks in adv.

Rajesh Y.

Hi Nagarjuna,

The data displayed in the link mentioned by you is as follows:

<b>Application Server State

HTTP Application Server Handler

ABAP Server operational = TRUE

J2EE Server configured = FALSE

J2EE HTTP port =

J2EE HTTPS port =

J2EE Server operational = FALSE

Default root access handler = ABAP

URL Prefix Table loaded = TRUE</b>

It says that J2EE server is not configured and the values for J2EE HTTP port is blank.

What does this data indicate?

Hi,

This means that your J2EE HTTP Port is not configured to "50xxx". Thats why you are unable to access http://yourhost:50xxx/rep/start/index.jsp.

Ask your basic team to configure the J2EE HTTP Port.

Also check the following:

SMICM Goto->Services you need to get the following:

Protocol Service/Port Hostname

-

HTTP 8xxx (<b>This is your ABAP port</b>) <yourhostname>

SMTP ......

Hi Rajesh,

The Naming convention for your J2EE HTTP Port is : 5<J2EE_Instance_number>00.

Hi Venugopal,

I checked both the RFCs told by you, But non of them are working.

The error msg displayed is

<b>"Error opening an RFC connection."</b>

Pls suggest what can be the possible reason for this kind of error.

Hi Rajesh,

I think the error lies in the HTTP Connection that u created in SM59, Check the Connection type, Target host,Path and Service No (AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER ( TCP/IP CONNECTION)

AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER ), has been given correctly or not... then it works Sure...

Problem is your J2EE server not up and running...check in Visual Administrator those two RFC Connection Program ID'S are working properly in Visual Admin....your problem will solve.

Hi,

we tried to open the link http://10.10.0.XXX:50000.

"<b>The page cannot be displayed</b>" message comming.

I think J2EE is NOT running. Here the admin guy also doesn't know the default user ID and password. in the VA I tried to add new user with port 50000. the message "<b>Unable to connect Local Host: 50000</b>" and the same case with port 50004 also.

And what RFC connection to be checked?

we are checking in "HTTP Connections to R/3 System" the RFC "INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI". the log-on the user ID and password are correct.

Hi Rajesh,

check some of RFC connection in SM59

AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER ( TCP/IP CONNECTION)

AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER ( " " " )

check if these two are working or not.

Hi,

we tried to access VA, but the port in VA for J2EE is 50004. that port is not recognizing in Telnet. is there any default User and <b>port</b> for the VA access.

Is there any other approach to check the same from XI GUI.

Thanks,

Rajesh Y.

Yallabandi,

Try and open the link http://<port>:<server>; . If this is successful, that means you J2EE is up and running. Otherwise define a new definition in VA and then try logging into the VA with that one.

You might also want to verify the username and password of the RFC connection (SM59) in your SAP system.

Hi,

In the RFC connection you need to have your Java Port (50000) not ABAP (8000)

Please can you check if Java Port is correct.

Yallabandi,

Could you test the RFC connection in the Visual Admin tool. The connection should be successful in the VA for it to work on the XI server.
