Auto creation of device location during installation

Hi Guru,

I have some question regarding timing of creation of device location.

1- Do we need to create device location before installing the meter?

2- if it get created automatically during meter installation then what is the configuration setting for that?

SPRO --> SAP Utilities --> Device Management --> Installation --> Basic Settings --> Define System Parameters for Installation/Removal/Replacement

the detailed help on this SPRO Node:

NEWDEVLOC (Notification for automatic creation of a new device location)

If a device is installed in an installation and you have not entered a device location, provided that the installation is not allocated to a device location, the system automatically creates one for the device. You do not need to customize settings for this. Select this field to call up a notification and you can trigger an event.
