Could you please add more information about what transaction you are using and when you encounter the error. This helps in solving you query.

Try to create a inspection plan for the material in QP01 and note down the usage.

Go to QA02 and put the inspection lot and got to inspection specification and change the usage as per your inspection plan and click task list button and assign the inspection plan.

then go to sample tab and click sample calcualtion and save the lot.

Now you will be able to record the results.
