    Hello Bernard,

According your information, the register file /etc/opt/sdb

is existing on the database server.

Could you please provide more information, what was done on the

    database server.

As you deleted the database software on the this server incorrectly.

    - How did you do it?

    - Do you have any database software installed on this server

or the directory /sapdb is empty now?

    - Did you run 'sdbuninst -all' as root user?

    - Do you have another database instance installed on the server?

If all(!) database software was deleted on the server, then please

also delete the file ( directory /sapdb is empty ):

    /etc/opt/sdb

    &&

    /usr/spool/sql ( subdirectories )

after that please repeat the database installation using SDBINST tool.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

      Hello Bernd,

      Thank you for the update.

To delete the installed database software, it is recommended to drop database instance and run 'sdbuninst -all' as root user.

The 'sdbuninst' tool is located in the <IndepProgPath>/bin directory.

      Best regards, Natalia Khlopina
