Reset All Personalization does not reset changes

Hello SAP Launchpad Service Team,

we're using the personalization service (/comsapperso/flex/personalization/) of the BTP Launchpad Service to allow our users to personalize the custom Fiori Elements apps that we've deployed for them. For one user we run into the issue that the Object Page of a List Report Object Page app can't be opened anymore due to the error "adding element with duplicate id". This happens for the user also when starting in incognito mode. Other Users are not affected by this issue. So I've tried the "Reset All Personalization" button in the Settings menu:

Unfortunately this seems to have no influence on the stored personalization. When launching our app the json returned from:

/comsapperso/flex/personalization/v1/data/appid

still does return an array of changes:

I've already tried if deleting the user in the BTP Subaccount would also delete this personalization. But unfortunately this didn't had any effect.

I also have an SAP Support Incident open on this topic: 165417 / 2022.

Looking forward for any input.

Hi Gregor,

as always: Thanks for your feedback and detailed analysis! Here I see 3 aspects:

  • Error "adding element with duplicate id": This is a bug and there already are several incidents on this with SAP. As of now, we have no ETA for a fix. Either both of us check again in maybe one week or you create your own incident to get notified directly.
  • FLP button 'Reset All Personalization' deletes the personalization of FLP itself, but currently not the personalization of the apps (which is handled via SAPUI5 flexibility): This seems a valid requirement, but would need to be discussed in SAP. I will inform my colleagues on this.
  • Deleting a subaccount user is expected to delete its SAPUI5 flexibility personalizations: SAP is following the official data deletion process and after a legal grace period of somewhere between 30-60 days I think, this data is gone.

Hi Oliver,

thank you for your response. It's good that for the Error "adding element with duplicate id" a fix is at least planned. But is there any possibility to delete the personalization that causes this duplicate id? Our user is completely blocked from using the app.

I am having the same issue as Gregor, due to personalizations our applications do not load anymore/become very slow for some users. I also created an incident (84915 / 2022), but it's already been more than 2 months and still no fix.

I also think it makes sense to give users the ability to reset their personalizations for a specific app, so they can always go back to default. This way, future personalization errors could be worked around.
