When on a create customer change request, there is a section for ERP Customer. what does that represent? what is the difference between between Customer and ERP customer? Is this referencing a different customer in ECC or S4Hana?

Hi sap_pelsio,

MDG follows the same approach of S/4HANA: you always deal with Business Partners, not directly with "classical" Customer (or Vendor) master.

The ERP Customer section permits to maintain customer specific info, that would be store within backend tables KNA1, KNB1, etc...

On the other side, general data, IDs, address data,... are stored at BP level (technically, in table BUT000, BUT0ID, etc...).

The synchronization between BP and customer data is handled through CVI (Customer/Vendor Integration) and the associated roles (for example, FLCU01 for customer).

You can find a lot of information regarding CVI in our community - I recommend you to read some of the blogs.

BR,

R.
