LIS reinitialization clarification

Hi ,

I need some clarifications on LIS reinitialization process(on SXXX user defined infostructure for Material Movements).

The volume of data in the infostructure is about 2.5 crores.

When running the statistical setup we usually specify the version suppose as &(X.

After the setup we will run the version copy to convert the data in the information structure from &(X to 000.

By considering the time factor as the above two jobs will run for a long period of time,

Is it possible to fill the setup tables directly with 000 version? and if so we can eliminate the version copy step. What are the consequences if we follow this.

And please provide some document on LIS reinitialization process.

Thanks In advance,

Bhanot

    Hi,

I've always initialized in 000 version. Since this is the current version you have to be careful that at the time of initialization there is no activity on the source system.

I understand the primitive method is used to make sure that you initalization does not get affected.

    Hope it helps.

      Dear Sachin,

      Thanks for responce,

I will try to fill setup tables using 000 version directly and escape the version copy job.

Do you have any idea of how much time it will take to fill up setup tables with 2.5 crores of records?

So that i will request outage window for that duration of time.

      Thanks
