Readiness Check for Upgrade (S/41909 to S/42021)

Hello,

I'm trying to run Readiness Check for "Upgrade" on S/4 1909 system. I've followed the SAP note "3059197 - SAP Readiness Check for SAP S/4HANA upgrades" and implemented all required notes.

Now when executing the program RC_COLLECT_ANALYSIS_DATA, the following erro occurs and I cannot Schedule Analysis: "The system is already a SAP S/4HANA system. This is not supported. The system is not a SAP ERP system. This is not supported.".

How can I run the RC for Upgrade in a system alredy in S/4 ? Thank you.

Hi Tiago,

I just came across your question, so sorry for the late reply. First of all, you are absolutely correct that there is an SAP Readiness Check for SAP S/4HANA upgrade available (since June 2021). And you did correct with the implementation of SAP note "3059197 - SAP Readiness Check for SAP S/4HANA upgrades". The only thing you missed is to update SAP Note 2758146 to the latest version - the report you have is still the old one.

Hope that my answer is still helpful.

Best Regards,

Astrid

Hello,

It could be possible that you got this picture from a conversion guide. And readiness check has been wrongly mentioned. But readiness check is not used when your system is already S/4 system. Its only recommended, but again not mandatory for the conversion process.

For systems already on S/4 and when you perform an upgrade to latest release, readiness check is not used at all.

Hi Sibashis,

Normally I only run simplification list but I was checking s/4 upgrade guide and SAP recommends to run readiness check "for upgrade" as well.

Hello,

Why do you need the readiness check report for S/4HANA system upgrades? This is required as a preactivity before any conversion project.

You would require only the simplification item checks module to continue the upgrade. Even the SUM tool will check for it during the checks and end of pre-processing phase.
