How to view content of non 'analytical query' type CDS views

KBA 2593971 states that only CDS views with type 'Analytics Query' can be previewed in the 'View Browser' app and that all other types require the 'Custom CDS Views' app. How can this be done for example with I_ChartOfAccounts (type dimension)?

You can use the 'Custom CDS Views – to be deprecated' app to preview the content of SAP views (e.g. I_ChartOfAccounts)

You need to use deprecated business catalog SAP_CORE_BC_EXT in this case.

Alternatively the new 'Custom CDS Views' app allows you to preview the content of a custom CDS view created on top of a SAP view (YY1_XXXX with Data source I_ChartOfAccounts for example).

Please note the customer is responsible for the creation of their Custom CDS views, and any queries regarding the creation of same should be handled by consultants.
