Remove leading zeros for a Fiori Elements UI.DataField

Hi, I am once again struggling to achieve something that sounds simple in Fiori Elements!

I would like to remove the leading zeros from a field used in a List Card on an OVP.

Is there some annotation I can use in the frontend or would I be better off looking at removing them from the backend CDS view?
